Vision of   Molecular Biology  Lab :

  • The Molecular Biology Laboratory will be a promising state-of-art laboratory, regionally and nationally for the high-quality teaching, research and service provided by its team and with the help of the faculty staff.
  • Interactions with members of the department as collegial, respectful, helpful, competent, and enthusiastic, as our objective is to provide excellent communication between departments and institutions through technically competent service.
  • All researches would be conducted according to the good laboratory practice, using enthusiastic efforts , and utilizing the best instrumentation technology.
  • The Laboratory may be engaged in partnerships with others that result in mutually beneficial outcomes.
  • Accreditation should be sought for  in Molecular Biology Lab to be recognized nationally and internationally  and to be established as a reference regional molecular biology lab.

 Objectives:

Research:

  • Applying for nationally and internationally funds and grants, with the aid of our grant office service.
  • Supporting help and technology for master and MD seeking candidates
  • Supporting postdoctoral research.
  • Involving undergraduates in research and research methodology.

Training :

  • Hands on training in Molecular Biology.
  • Providing CME in the field of Molecular biology through workshops and theoritical
  • Extending our training service to cover the Arabic region and Africa.
  • Exchanging experts whenever possible.

Service:

  • The idea to provide service in the form of doing commercially available diagnostic molecular biology tests that are not provided by other department.
  • This service could be provided directly to the patients themselves or through a lab to lab service .
  • Bioinformatics service is a newly introduced tool to help postgraduate and postdoctoral candidates to pick the molecular biology methods suitable for their research  and verify methodology written in different articles. This is achieved through in-silico simulation to different reactions in molecular biology.

Requirements/ Eligibility  for Conducting Research at the lab

  1. Certified attendance of workshop for basic molecular biology techniques
  2. Submission of research plan proposal to be approved by the executive board of Molecular biology research lab.
  3. Signed consent for mentioning the lab in the publication.
