**What are the department’s activities in community services?

1- Diagnostic services in university hospitals, such as electrophysiological diagnostic services and ultrasound examination of joints, tendons, muscles and nerves.

2- Therapeutic services such as physical therapy, therapeutic exercises, local injections, and biological therapy.

3- Health awareness seminars in the department’s outpatient clinics.

4- Medical convoys.

**What are the areas of work of the clinics of the Department of Rheumatology, Rehabilitation and Physical Medicine?

It has several fields such as: 

• Physical Medicine Clinic: It provides services for diagnosing diseases of the locomotor system (musculoskeletal), treatment with various natural methods, and rehabilitation.

• Rheumatic Diseases Clinic: It provides diagnostic services (ultrasound) and treatment of rheumatic diseases, including biological treatment and local injections.

•Electrophysiological diagnosis clinic: It performs all clinical electrophysiological tests to diagnose various diseases of the peripheral and central nervous system.

• Pelvic Diseases Rehabilitation and Feedback Clinic: It provides all the services necessary to diagnose and treat pelvic diseases, including defecation and urination diseases and chronic pelvic pain, with the latest equipment.

• Ultrasound clinic for the musculoskeletal and nervous system: It provides services for diagnosing rheumatic diseases and local pain through diagnostic ultrasound, and provides therapeutic services such as local injections into the joints and around the joints, and joint replacement in cases of arthralgia.

• Therapeutic Nutrition Clinic for Patients with Rheumatic Diseases: It provides nutritional counseling services for patients with rheumatic diseases.

• Sports Medicine Clinic: It provides diagnostic and treatment services for various sports injuries among athletes.

• Osteoporosis Clinic: It provides services for diagnosing and treating osteoporosis in its various forms, while conducting campaigns to raise awareness of it and its dangers.

• Shock wave therapy clinic: It provides all therapeutic services using a shock wave therapy device. 

**What are the therapeutic and diagnostic services provided by the department?

1- Diagnostic services in university hospitals, such as electrophysiological diagnostic services and ultrasound examination of joints, tendons, muscles and nerves, in all university hospitals in Alexandria and Borg El Arab.

2- Therapeutic services such as physical therapy, therapeutic exercises, local injections, and biological treatment for rheumatic diseases.

3- All of this is done through a number of internal units within the department.
