About the department
The Department of Medical Physiology strives to be a center of excellence and innovation in medical education and scientific research to unite its students and faculty members by the leadership in the field of medical physiology, which contributes to enriching the medical profession and achieve excellence and competitiveness and contribute to the advancement of the College to the site of the forefront among its peers At the national, regional and international levels

History of the Department
The Department of Physiology was established in 1942 under the chairmanship of the late Professor Mohamed Talaat. It had one teacher, the late Dr. Francis Daoud Ibrahim, and was attached to the Histology Department. The late Dr. Hassan Al-Kashif was responsible for him. In 1944 he joined Dr. Yahya Aziz Habib. The department sent his mission to England in 1946. The member of the Baath Party was Dr. Ali Zaki Shafei and joined his college in London. In 1947, the department sent another mission to England. The member of the Baath Party was Dr. Yahya Aziz Habib and joined his college. In London, Dr. Hafitha Al Banna, Dr. Ibrahim Abul-Naga, Cheetah go run
He returned from the mission in 1949, Dr. Ali Zaki Shafei and joined the department and then returned Dr. Yahya Aziz Habib of the mission in 1950 and at this time broke the Department of Histology Department of Physiology became Professor Dr. Mohamed Talaat Dean of the College and took its head Dr. Francis Dawood Ibrahim and moved Dr. Ali Zaki Shafei Dr. Laila Abdel-Fattah El-Zayadi joined his department in 1954. Dr. Mohamed Talaat moved to Cairo and Dr. Yahia Aziz Habib traveled to the United States for a year. In 1964, his department was headed by Dr. Yahya Aziz Habib. The department sent a mission to the University of Aberdeen and was a member of the late Dr. Sedqi Abu al-Khair. In 1973, Dr. Hafizah Al Banna took over as head of the department and during this period Dr. Laila Hassan Kira moved from the Institute of Medical Research to the Department of Physiology at the Faculty of Medicine. In 1982, Dr. Layla Al-Zayadi assumed the oath of office for three years. In 1992, Dr. Salwa Rakha was appointed as the head of the department and then Dr. Sobhy El-Kafafy followed by Dr. Hayah Shehata El Sayad. There are currently 11 full professors, 14 professors, 4 assistant professors, 7 teachers, 4 assistant teachers and 7 teachers.
A new runway and a research lab have been constructed and the old runway is now being renovated by the physiological department
